Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) has over 10,000
employees in Tucson. All RMS employees qualify for free gym
membership when they begin work with the company. Raytheon
Fitness/Wellness Center originally opened in 1993, has been
updated with Paramount equipment.
This 9,000 sq. ft. center includes locker rooms; cardio,
free weight and machine weight rooms; outdoor basketball
court; multi-purpose field; sand volleyball court and aerobics
trailer.
Employees receive Health Screenings, a comprehensive Fitness
Assessment and Educational Classes. Fitness Classes are held
through the week including Cardio Kick-boxing, Pilate and
Boot Camp (military style exercise) classes.
Robert J. Pratt, Raytheon Fitness Director comments "I
chose Paramount equipment because it is easy for members
to use. I also chose Paramount equipment because I have used
it in other gyms and it required very low maintenance. Despite
the hundreds of employees using the Paramount equipment in
our gym every day, it still requires very little maintenance.
"Employees are impressed by the description on the instruction
label on each machine. They say that they constantly refer
to it to check that they are doing the exercise correctly.
They also comment on the comfort of the machines. The seats
are well padded and easy to adjust if necessary."
Raytheon has just submitted a national application to become
one of only nine designated Gold Well Workplaces nationwide.
The company aims to improve employee morale, health and well
being and retention." |
