North Greece is in one of the largest
Fire Districts in Monroe County operating from three fully-manned
stations. North Greece is a combination department with 33 career
staff, 28 part-time employees, and 75 volunteers. This Fire District
protects a 46-square-mile area comprised of residential communities,
businesses, and undeveloped land. Operating from three fully-manned
stations, in 2004, North Greece responded to over 3,500 calls.
In addition, they own and operate a training facility. Their Fire
Safety Education Program has received state-wide recognition for
its innovative education programs and child car seat safety inspections.
The North Greece Fire District opened a new 17,000 square foot
station, featuring a large physical training
room and the new Paramount strength system. Thomas
J. Grace, Assistant Chief, states, "The space designed
in the new station finally gives us the room and a quality
atmosphere for participating in physical training. Three of
our people completed a Physical Fitness Trainer Certification
Course designed to assist participants with a more personalized
program. With the purchase and installation of the Paramount
Fitness equipment, we are confident we have a state-of-the-art
facility that will serve us for many years. Paramount equipment
was chosen because of the durability desired and the equipment
purchased seemed to fit our specific needs. Our users are extremely
happy with the equipment and we have received many compliments
at this point."
