AutoSketch® Check out
Autodesk's AutoSketch 9. http://www.autodesk.com
At $120 it is less expensive and easier to use than AutoCAD,
and it's compatible with AutoCAD's DWG file format.
Paramount supplies art for this software at www.paramountfitness.com/support/create_layout/autosketch/instructions.shtm
USING SOFTWARE YOU ALREADY HAVE:
The dxf format files we provided import
into most vector software files. I suggest experimenting with
an individual dxf file to see if it is compatible with your
existing programs. If it works with a program you are already
familiar with then you will avoid the learning curve with buying
a new program.
ABOUT THESE PROGRAMS:
AutoCad® is expensive ($3,750 with yearly
upgrades at $500) and used by architects.
AutoCAD LT® 2006 software is $800
with yearly upgrades at $300. However, if you get architect's
files frequently this would open their files.
Both programs are made by AutoDesk. http://www.autodesk.com
CANVAS
Note: AS
OF APRIL 2007 Paramount will not supply Canvas format files for
new products. You can open the files we provide in dxf
file format to add to the Symbol library. The help funcion in
Canvas, the manual, or their web site has directions to create
symbols and append you library.
If you are using Canvas now and wish to share your comments call
Cherie Michele at Paramount Fitness 323-721-2121.

TIP ABOUT CANVAS: When you first get Canvas you will see it is
a multi-tasking program. I advise you start your study of the manual
with "Layers"
and "Using Drawing Tools". Draw the floorplan on one
layer then lock it. Drag and drop the machines onto a separate
layer. You do not need to learn the entire program to use it for
layouts.
