MP Series Machines shipped and installed for the time period encompassing August 2006 to January 19th 2007 are affected by this notice. This letter is to advise you of a problem that, if not corrected, could result in serious injury in the use of the MP Lat Pulldown station of these machines.  Your immediate attention and action is required.

We have received notice that, after extended use, the cable leading to the chest press and lat pulldown stations can develop significant twist rendering the stations unusable (shown in the illustration on the left). This can cause damage and ultimate failure to this cable. The potential for serious injury exists if the cable and pulleys on this station are not replaced.  This problem only exists on the lat / chest press station. Machines that were shipped after January 20th 2007 are not affected by this change.

Paramount has available a replacement kit to remedy this problem. The replacement kit ships with all pulleys, end fittings, cable and mounting hardware and step-by-step instructions for installation.

Please contact our customer service department at 1-800-721-2121 and they will put you in contact with the dealer that installed the machine. If you wish to install the kit yourself then we can send it directly to you.  We anticipate that replacement kits will be shipping the last week of January, 2007.
